Google | Business As Usual
“Business As Usual” is about creating your own sense of movement, taking ownership of what you can influence, and being the author of your own story. A sense of peace and happiness when things seem to be burning around you. And the fact that we have to continuously choose ourselves. Our setting, Leimert Park, is known for being the center of historical African-American art and music in LA. @NeighborsSkateShop, through the love, energy and impact of skateboarding, helps protect and preserve that culture. And it is with this sentiment that we were able to showcase businesses that serve the community and tell the story of our hero, @akwxi. @wearedivision7 --------- Google "Business As Usual" credits Director: Joshua Kissi @joshuakissi Production Co: division7 @wearedivision7 Starring: Akwasi Baour Owusi @akwxi Neighbors Skate Shop @neighborsskateshop Edward (Tre) N Lampkin III @cockytee Cleon Arrey @cleonarrey Client: Google @google Agency: M Booth Group Manager: Amy Shoenthal EPs: Kamila Prokop @kamilaprokop + David Richards Producer: Manny Caston: @mannycaston Production Supervisor: Gianfranco Svagelj @svagelj Production Coordinator: Brooke Eliot @broookeee21 1st AD: Boma Pennebaker DP: Ben Goodman @bengoodman_dp 1st AC: Travis Waddell @traviswaddell 2nd AC: Scott Sison @scottsison Prop Master: Dru Doe Leggiero Prop Assist: Quintin Scherquist Suit Tailor: Adrien Sauvage: @adriensauvage Music: Sunni Colon @sunnicolon Voice Over: David B. Corona's History (2019)
Toggle subtitles if your Spanish is a little rusty! Commissioned by Corona Mexico and Observatory, I directed this stop-frame film that travels through the intertwined history of Mexico and Corona. Narrated by Gael García Bernal and inspired by the art of Pedro Friedeberg, it was produced at Nexus Studios. We worked with Andy Gent’s team at Arch Model Studio to design, create and animate a cast of 71 miniature characters, 8 detailed sets and 350 individually made miniature glass bottles. The film illustrates key historical events boiled down into 4'x3' dioramas. The music is by Bridget Samuels and was recorded by an orchestra of more than 50 people at Air Studios in London. Corona put together a making of which you can watch here: https://vimeo.com/326534667/29bc784eed Special thanks to Jack Cunningham for his work as Art Director, James Graham who designed the characters and the big team of artists who put a lot of love and sweat into this! — Client: Corona, Mexico.
